The Ayia Thekla Beach is located 6.5 kilometres West of the centre of Ayia Napa. It is a sandy, natural beach, with a rocky bottom covered with fine golden sand. The waves are usually small at the specific beach. It was named after the Saint Ayia Thekla to whom the carved nearby temple and the new white church are dedicated. The beach is found inside the SPA area of the Natura 2000 network. Visitors can choose to walk either heading East towards the beach “Vathia Yonia” or heading West towards the picturesque fishing shelter of “Potamos Tou Liopetriou”, using the pedestrians’ lane. Restaurants and kiosks can be found in the area.
